Boot Probleme mit Intel-Grafik

kernel error in drm_kms_helper, flip_done timed out

Seit 2017 gibt es Boot-Probleme bei Notebooks mit älterer Intel-Grafik. Diese traten erstmalig 2017 mit neueren Kerneln auf. Der Rechner bootet extrem langsam.

Inzwischen gibt es einen Workaround für das Problem:

Ursache ist, dass es ein Problem mit S-Video gibt.

Als Workaround, damit der PC wieder schnell bootet, muss S-Video im Kernel abgeschaltet werden. Das Problem kann auch auftreten, wenn der PC keinen S-Video-Port hat, aber S-Video im Intel Grafik-Chip vorhanden ist.

Dazu ergänzen Sie folgende Zeile in der Datei /etc/default/grub

GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT=’quiet splash‘

mit dem Eintrag video=SVIDEO-1:d

GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT=’quiet splash video=SVIDEO-1:d‘

Die geänderte Datei /etc/default/grub speichern.

Anschließend muss die Grub-Konfiguration aktualisiert werden:

sudo update-grub

Nach dem Neustart des PC sollte das Problem behoben sein.
